No one has seen or heard from Jimmy Gracey since Tuesday. Gracey, a Chicago native, is a student at the University of Alabama. Following his disappearance, his mother, Therese Marren Gracey, made an impassioned plea for his safe return.

Facebook, she confirmed that Gracey is currently missing. She turned to her fellow Facebook friends for help.

She wrote, "My son is a University of Alabama student who is visiting friends in Barcelona who are studying abroad. They went to Shoko last night. The police have his phone, but he didn't make it back to the air bnb. Has anyone see him?"

At this time, it's unclear how police got ahold of his cell phone.

She also confirmed, "Edited to add that he was wearing a white t shirt and dark pants (probably joggers). He wears a gold chain with a rhinestone cross. He was last seen by his friend at Shoko around 3 am. The friend was leaving, but Jimmy stayed."

University of Alabama Student Missing

According to the description, the college student is 6 feet and 175 pounds.

A University of Alabama spokesperson told the outlet in a statement, "James Paul Gracey is a UA student on a personal trip. UA staff are in touch with the family and those associated with them to offer support and assistance in any way possible."

Following her Facebook post, several people reached out to help.

One wrote, "I work for Senator Tuberville. I just sent you my phone number via Messenger if we can assist in any way. Praying for his safety!"

Another wrote, "Please contact the USA embassy in Madrid if he hasn't been found."

Yet another wrote, "Therese, I sent a mom's name and number to your inbox through messenger. I drove her daughter to the airport today. The student is meeting her parents at another airport and they are flying to Barcelona tonight. This family has a student who is studying in Spain and they are going to visit. That mama asked me to share her name and number with you and if there's anything she can do to help you please out."
