U.S. Service Member Dead After Training Exercise Accident Involving Tank

The U.S. service member was taking part in a training exercise in the early hours of the morning when the tragic incident occurred.

A U.S. service member has tragically passed away after a tragic accident during a training exercise.

As reported by ABC 7, the soldier was identified as 29-year-old Adrian Bosney. He was a combat engineer of the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

The tragic incident happened on June 10 in the Mojave Desert. Bonsey was in a training area during "hours of limited visibility" when he was struck by an M2 Bradley tank. The incident happened at around 4:30 am local time.

The service member was taking part in a training exercise at the National Training Center in the Mojave. Units typically spend a month there, where they conduct large-scale exercises that tend to mimic real war conditions. They're the final step in an Army unit's journey before they are considered combat-ready.

The New York native had joined the Army in 2023 and was stationed at Fort Stewart for two months. He had previously served at Fort Carson in Colorado and had also been deployed to Poland back in 2024.
