Two people have been shot after a car crash in North Philadelphia. As reported by CBS News Philadelphia, the shooting happened on Friday, April 3, at around 8:15 pm local time.
Authorities explained that the incident happened near Roberts Avenue and Fox Streets in the East Falls neighborhood of Philadelphia. The incident appeared to have taken place between a gray Jeep Wrangler and a dark Kia Telluride that had crashed into each other. The incident had happened right outside the Bakers Center shopping center.
Both victims who were injured and subsequently hospitalized are 23-year-old men. One man, who was tragically shot in the face while sitting in the driver's seat of the Kia, is currently in critical condition. The other man told authorities that he was walking when a stray bullet hit him in the arm. He is in stable condition.
Both victims were taken by police officers to Temple Hospital, an academic medical center in North Philadelphia.
Police are unsure whether there was one or more suspects. However, they do believe that after the shooting, they grabbed a few items from the car and fled afterward. The Jeep Wrangler was a rental, and had North Carolina plates. Police are unsure where the car was rented from.

Police Are Looking To Find Surveillance Camera Footage of the Shooting
Due to the nature of the crime and how little the police currently know, they are currently looking for surveillance camera footage. It turns out that a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) bus was near the scene when the tragic shooting happened, and that video from the bus might be helpful in finding those responsible.
The bus driver has apparently cooperated with authorities, meaning that some headway may be made in this case soon. Further, a police helicopter was flying over the scene as of 11pm local time. It appeared to have taken video of the damage apparent on both cars.
While they are still waiting for the footage from the SEPTA bus, police have still urged anyone who might have information to contact the department.
What a tragic incident. We hope that justice will be served. May the two victims make a speedy recovery.
