Get your spoons ready, Dallas, because two new edible cookie dough shops are opening up and we are more than excited to try them out. All the rage in cities like New York and Los Angeles, edible cookie dough has turned into a dessert phenomenon.
I must admit, I eat raw cookie dough whenever I make up a batch of cookies. While I (still) get lectured by my mother about how it contains raw eggs, I can't help but enjoy the sweet and tasty dough. Now, I can't wait for the shops to open so I can eat all the cookie dough my heart desires. Here are the two shops, with information on their locations and dates.
Cookie Doh
The first store, named Cookie Doh, is set to open in Deep Ellum in the spring. Serving up treats like cookie dough milkshakes, cookie dough ice cream sandwiches and cookie dough scoops served in waffle cones, this dessert shop is sure to please any cookie dough aficionado.
The owners, Usman and Javeria Babar shared with Culture Map Dallas that all of the doughs can be bought in large quantities to be taken home and baked off.
They are also excited to share a specialty cookie dough bonbon which the store will sell exclusively.
The store is located right next to Chills 360 (which the Babar's also own), an ice cream shop that specializes in hand-rolled ice cream concoctions.
The Dough Dough
The second store, The Dough Dough is opening on the Northwest corner of Preston Road and Forest Lane. The store is said to open in the spring.
Owned by Gina Ginsburg, the business is set to open up it's first storefront selling single scoops of dough in ten different flavors like snickerdoodle, peanut buddy, nutella and chocolate chip.
The dough is made using pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour, meaning that the dough is super safe to eat. And the best part is that if you take some dough home you can bake up a mean batch of cookies.
If you can't wait until the store opens, you can order for delivery in the Dallas area with a minimum $50 order. Which of the stores are you going to visit first?
