Two Couples with Same Names Are Getting Married on Same Day in Same State by Coincidence

This next story seems straight out of a romantic comedy you'd watch on the Hallmark Channel. However, this tale of two couples with the same first names that are getting married in the same state on the same day is as real as it gets.

How Did These Two Couples Getting Married Find Each Other?

As PEOPLE reports, this story began where most do nowadays: on the internet.

Pittsburgh couple Erin Bock and Make Darney created a wedding website for their big day on May 6. They also added a registry for their guests and made it public.

Then they received a set of Kate Spade Christmas towels from an unknown couple. Bock and Darney started to question their decision to make the site public.

Bock said, "There was a little note in there from another Erin who said, 'Congratulations, we wish you well, and you stole our website name."

That other Erin was Erin Ditro, who is getting married to Mike Anderson in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Ditro found the coincidence of the shared names and wedding date both "weird" and "cute." She decided to make the connection even more memorable for both couples.

"I don't know if they know about us, but I just think this is so cute," said Ditro. "I'm just going to send them a gift, because we're getting married, they're getting married, and I just want to share the love."

The Other Couple Returned the Favor

Bock and Darnay decided to return the gesture after receiving the kind gift from Ditro and Anderson.

"It was just so cute," said Bock. "I never would have thought to do that, but I'm so glad that she did. It's just such a neat little coincidence, and a fun thing."

To show their appreciation, Bock and Darnay found the other Mike and Erin's wedding website. They then contributed to the couple's honeymoon fund.

"It was a nice little surprise to break up all of the stress and the monotony of these final days of planning, so it was a real treat," she said. "I hope that they enjoy their gift, and that everybody has a great day."

In the message to the couple, Ditro wrote, "Maybe we should coordinate if we're both having kids to see if their birthdays are the same at this point."
