Two children have died after a school bus crashed in Tennessee on Friday, March 27. Their identities have now been released, as reported by People.

The crash happened between a Kenwood Middle School school bus and a Tennessee Department of Transport dump truck. Over 20 students were on the bus, along with 5 adults. Also, two adults were present in the dump truck, as confirmed by Tennessee Highway Patrol Major Travis Plotzer.

A Facebook post released by the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System detailed the tragic reaction by the school. "Today, the families of 24 students and 5 employees received phone calls that no loved one ever wants to receive. Our hearts are shattered at the tragic loss of two young lives," the statement read.

The statement also said, "The Kenwood Middle community will need our continued support, and we will share opportunities to assist families as details are confirmed."

The principal of Kenwood Middle School, Dr. Miller, also released a statement. She emphasized that therapists would be at the school starting tomorrow, Monday, March 30, if students or staff required them. "Please continue to pray with us for our students, families, faculty, and staff. I am grateful for the strength of our Kenwood community," she added.
