Private First Class Katia Dueñas-Aguilar, 23, was found stabbed to death in her Army dorm. The door was locked, and she had bled out. Now, both her husband and another private have been arrested in connection with the murder.

Her husband is being charged with tampering with evidence. However, the other private, Sofia Rodas, 35, has been charged with first-degree murder. The two were being held on unrelated federal changes and have been extradited to Clarksville.

In a police statement, the arrests of the two charged with the stabbing of the private have been addressed. "The successful progression of this case highlights the critical partnership between local law enforcement and military authorities in addressing severe crimes that impact service members and their families."

Family Of Army Private Suspeted The Stabbing Was An Inside Job

The young Army private was found with 68 stab wounds to her neck. She was found inside a locked Army dorm. Initial investigations deemed the death to be a homicide.

During initial interviews, her family spoke out about the murder. They had their suspicions that the young female private had been stabbed by someone she worked with. Her mother, Carmen Aguilar, is quoted as saying "The problem is inside! The problem is inside and you [the reporter she had been speaking to] know too!"

The investigation has led police to arrest the husband of the private and another woman in connection with the stabbing. They are both being charged. The full investigation will find out if they are responsible for the savage killing.

According to Katia Dueñas-Aguilar's sister, she was unhappy at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. "She would already tell me that she's not happy over there. I wanted her to come back so we could make more memories." She has since asked for help in uncovering the truth behind the brutal stabbing of her sister.

To stab anyone 68 times is a wild act of aggression. However, the case may soon be closed with the two people now being charged for the murder.
