TV Star Reveals Infant Daughter Needs Heart Surgery, Asks For Support

This actress, known for her roles on the shows "Bosch" and "True Detective," shared the news on Instagram.

Chances are, your favorite high-profile TV star doesn't have to concern themselves with basic needs like health care.

However, the actors and actresses who support them in smaller roles sometimes struggle to make ends meet for their families.

Lindsay Musil is one such actor. You may recognize her name from Bosch or True Detective, or from her role in the indie film Fool's Paradise.

The actress went on social media to ask for help from fans. Not for herself, but for her daughter.

This TV Star Asked for Support on Instagram

Musil posted a vulnerable message on Instagram on Feb. 24 that, if you're a parent, is devastating to read.

"Hi, friends. This is hard to write, but our family needs help," she began. "Our daughter will need heart surgery around her first birthday."

The TV star added, "She is okay - strong, happy, and doing well - but she will need this procedure, and we want to make sure she has the best care possible. In order to do this, I need to qualify for my SAG health insurance again before then."

Musil explained that she lost her health insurance "right after giving birth." While she does have coverage through the state, the out-of-pocket costs for the surgery her daughter needs are more than her family can handle.

"Getting back onto SAG coverage isn't just ideal," she wrote. "It's necessary for our family right now."

Musil Isn't Asking for Money

Musil isn't asking for money to help pay for her daughter's surgery. Instead, she is looking for any work that will help her regain her SAG health insurance coverage.

"I've had a couple of close calls this year, and I am still auditioning, but it feels too important not to be more proactive," she wrote. "So I'm putting this out there: I am available for work.

She added, "Truly, any job that qualifies toward SAG health - big or small, one line or ten pages - I will gratefully take it. Film, TV, VO, day-player, stand-in, last-minute booking... I'm in."

She added, "I have never had to ask for help in this capacity in my life. But when it comes to your child, pride goes out the window."

In response, fans and friends have filled the comments with support and advice, offering hope that Musil will find the help her family needs.
