McCarthy, 53, shared that she has become "paranoid" and is currently living in a tent after enduring mold poisoning last winter.

"Because I am paranoid now about basically sleeping anywhere, I live in a tent," McCarthy said during an Oct. 29 episode of her podcast. "I'm not even joking."

In a video shared on social media, the Scary Movie 3 alum showed off her tent located in the backyard of her California residence. The tan tent includes a rainproof cover that she uses to protect against "chemtrails" and sprinklers.

The anti-vaccine activist revealed that she has been mold detoxing for seven months.

"That's where this journey has brought me," McCarthy said. "After all of those surgeries, after being diagnosed with Mycotoxin poisoning, I feel a little bit sometimes crazy and like the walls are caving in and paranoid."

"It's really, really hard. They talk about people with mold poisoning having PTSD, I'm still in the traumatic part," she added.

The Masked Singer judge said that she was diagnosed with mold poisoning in December 2025.

She shared that her first symptom was a reoccurring infected root canal which caused the left side of her face to swell.

Mold is a type of fungus that thrives in wet areas. Inside, it can grow in damp areas like bathrooms, basements, or kitchens.

If a home has experienced a flood or has leaky pipes, it is more likely to develop mold.

For those who are allergic, symptoms such as itchy, runny nose, coughing, and even wheezing can occur when outdoor mold levels are high. The same can occur if you're exposed to indoor mold, even for a short period of time.

The symptoms McCarthy dealt with sounded much more severe, prompting her to become an outdoorswoman.

McCarthy has been married to Donnie Wahlberg since 2014. She has been a judge on The Masked Singer since 2019.

She began her acting career in 1994 and later co-hosted the MTV game show Singled Out.
