Fortunately for Marwa, her injuries weren't deemed serious upon arrival at a hospital. They were, however, kept under observation to ensure the situation didn't deteriorate. Still, that didn't stop Marwa from being sent home to recover in her own surroundings.

Of course, the whole situation has likely left Marwa with some trauma. Being attacked by a lion, even a cub, is a terrifying prospect. The mental and emotional toll of that situation undoubtedly weighed heavily, both at the time and potentially to this day.

Marwa being attacked has also opened up a wider debate regarding the use of on-set animals during filming.

"In Egypt, discussions about on-set animal safety have intensified after a lion cub attacked actress Marwa Abdel Moneim during filming,"

Currently, though, no decision regarding the use of animals has been reported, meaning they're still free to be used on set.

Marwa Abdel Moneim Has Recently Spoken on Her Attack

When speaking with Zwaya News, Marwa detailed her experience and the lasting impact it has had.

"It was very simple," she said. "I was hosting a lion trainer on the show, and she brought a cub with her so we could see because she has the cub at home."

Marwa then admitted that while playing with the lion cub, the situation soured, leading the animal to attack.

"I was playing with it, thinking it was just a little cub and a baby. Suddenly, it attacked me and bit me. It bit me on the shoulder. And of course, I got hurt, but she provided first aid until the episode was over. Then I went ot the hospital, but not the one for rabies shots."

Since the incident, Marwa has posted a picture of herself standing next to a lion cub on Instagram. Clearly, she hasn't developed a fear of being in close proximity to them, which is admirable.
