TV Anchor Caught on Camera Going off About Boss in Cuss-Laden Rant

Employees sometimes gripe about their bosses. It's a fact of life. They may have good reason or maybe there is just a personality- or work-style clash. However, when one TV news anchor named Taryn Asher allegedly had a profane meltdown about her boss in 2023, she was caught on camera, curse words and all. Needless to say, it was not her best day. After that risque rant, her time in that role at the station was probably ticking down and she was allegedly suspended. Asher was yanked off the air in late 2025 on several alleged grounds. She was ultimately reportedly let go by the station shortly after.

Per the New York Post, news anchor Taryn Asher of WJBK-TV Fox 2 in Detroit "is now suing the station for sex discrimination and retaliation, while Fox claims her removal followed 'unprofessional workplace behavior' and 'outbursts.'"

What Led up To Asher's Reported Dismissal

According to Deadline Detroit, Taryn Asher was suspended three years ago "at least in part" for allegedly acting "disrespectfully" to her boss. The incident that seems to have started the blowup between Asher and her supervisor was the routine filming of a public service announcement in the studio. There is a heated flurry of comments between Asher and someone off camera.

Asher is seen and heard getting more and more flustered and impatient. Finally, she blurts out, "I don't think you are. You're walking out really angry.: Then she utters one word - "B***h."

There is even more to her outburst. "Can I please finish what I'm going to say? What the [expletive]. Grow up."

To someone who appears to be a cameraman, Asher seethes, "I'm so done with her antics, telling on me every five seconds. I'm done."

Her Behavior in Other Instances Was Allegedly Considered Problematic

Per the Post, Taryn Asher's attitude was reportedly an issue in other instances. For example, the station responded to her lawsuit on August 14. They reportedly claimed that she was rude to colleagues and used profane language. Also, she allegedly "had 'confrontational and disrespectful interactions' with other staffers." The station also alleged that Asher was often not present at editorial meetings.

She also allegedly clashed with her male co-anchor, Roop Raj.

Therefore, "...Fox said management told Asher on Nov. 21 that she would not return...."

Asher reportedly denies the allegations against her of inappropriate workplace conduct. She also alleges that the station treated male employees facing similar accusations of poor behavior differently than her situation was handled.

Her Attorney Responded

The lawyer representing Taryn Asher, Tad Roumayah, reportedly told Deadline Detroit, "We disagree and Miss Asher vehemently denies that she engaged in any such 'outbursts' or 'unprofessional conduct' that warranted discipline, especially in light of Fox's admission in its own filings that multiple male employees had engaged in misconduct, including in the workplace, but were not fired."

He added, "Fox is trying to relabel Miss Asher's multiple and repeated complaints about unequal treatment based on her sex and gender -- which Fox itself admits on multiple occasions that she raised during her employment -- conveniently into these 'outbursts' and 'unprofessional conduct.'"
