Kai, who just kicked off her freshman season with the University of Miami's golf team, just revealed she's already sidelined due to surgery.
"I recently underwent surgery to repair a wrist injury I sustained during my first tournament of the season," the 19-year-old wrote on Instagram on Oct. 14 alongside a selfie showing her sporting a sling on her left arm and lying in a hospital bed.
"While I had hoped to avoid surgery, after talks with my family, coaches, and athletic training staff I know I made the best decision for my long-term health and my future in the game I love," Kai continued in the lengthy post. "It's certainly not how I envisioned the next few months, but sometimes the journey takes an unexpected turn, and I'm choosing to embrace this one with patience, and a whole lot of determination."
She went on to thank her doctor, the medical staff, her teammates, coaches, and family for their support.
"For now, it's all about healing, and trusting the process. I can't wait to be back with my team, doing what I love. I'll be back before you know it, stronger and more grateful than ever!" she concluded.
It is unclear just how severe the injury Kai sustained while golfing is. However, Kai's team has climbed to No. 7 in the national rankings following two tournament wins this season, per the Associated Press.
Kai Trump's Fans Show Their Support Following Her Surgery: "Don't Forget to Take Your Antioxidents"
Meanwhile, Kai Trump's over 3 million Instagram followers showed their support for the aspiring teen golfer in the comments section.
"Never think that Gods delays are Gods denials. Hold on; hold fast; hold out," one supportive onlooker wrote.
Plenty of Trump's fans also advised alternative healing methods in the wake of her surgery...
"Heal quickly and add in acupuncture to promote healing," another onlooker advised. "Dont forget to take your Antioxidents to speed healing!" yet another armchair medical expert chimed in.
This is reportedly the second surgery Kai has undergone during the course of her golf career. In an appearance on Fox & Friends back in July, she revealed she'd had wrist surgery six months earlier.
Here's hoping this second wrist surgery clears things up, and Kai is playing a few rounds with her grandpa ASAP.
