Trump Wants To Bring Stranded Astronauts Home

Whereas Biden didn't care about the Astronauts trapped aboard the ISS at all apparently — according to the current president — Donald Trump says he will get them back, even if he has to fly up there himself. Along with billionaire Elon Musk, Donald Trump has promised a rescue mission that will bring them back to terra firma.

When the Boeing return capsule failed, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams became stranded aboard the International Space Station. At this point, they have been trapped in space for eight months. Since the Biden administration, Space X has been trying to develop a return craft.

But, now, Trump has kicked Elon Musk into gear. Elon Musk posted a Tweet on his personal soapbox about Trump requesting the return of his two astronauts. "The @POTUS has asked @SpaceX to bring home the 2 astronauts stranded on the @Space_Station as soon as possible. We will do so. Terrible that the Biden administration left them there so long." He was consequently community fact-checked by his algorithm.

It is widely known that the Biden administration repeatedly asked Musk for the same favor. It was Space X that failed to produce a return shuttle in time. But, this is how the discourse is going at the moment. Although I doubt Biden could even walk himself to the bathroom unattended, let alone orchestrate a space rescue.

Previously, former NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said, "SpaceX will bring Butch and Suni back on a Dragon spacecraft as Crew 9 on a regular rotation after Crew 10 has arrived. The handover from one crew to the other is important to maintain the ISS and keep all astronauts safe."

Space X Astronauts Rescue Mission Encountering Constant Setbacks

Trump has asked Elon Musk to renew his efforts for the astronauts' rescue mission. Despite Musk trying to turn the whole thing into another flogging of Biden, his own company had been working on the mission for a long time already.

The rescue had already been scheduled for February 2025 under the Biden administration. So, although Musk and Trump will claim the astronauts' return as their victory, it was already well in the works. We will see the return of the stranded astronauts paraded as a huge victory for Trump and Musk when they finally touch down on Earth again. But it has already been in the works for a while now.
