President Donald Trump comes from a high-end real-estate background. Maybe that has something to do with his sweeping concepts for changing the appearance of Washington, D.C. However, not all of his ideas have been fruitful. One that fell through was adding his name to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. That was ruled against by a federal judge days ago.

Additionally, there has been harsh backlash about Trump's massive ballroom that is now under construction. The East Wing of the White House was demolished to make space for it. There was an outcry from many observers. In fact, some consider the ballroom more of a white elephant than a particularly needed or useful building. In addition, Donald Trump has proposed leaving the UFC Arena currently being built on the White House lawn as a permanent addition to the mansion's historic grounds.
Trump Likened the UFC Arena to the Eiffel Tower in France
The president, in a video on TikTok, compared the UFC Arena to the Eiffel Tower in France. It is truly one of the world's great and most beloved monuments. Speaking in the Oval Office, Trump explained his thinking about this issue. He said in the video, "People don't know that in Paris, France, the Eiffel Tower, 1889 it was built. It was supposed to be taken down immediately after the World's Fair, and then they said, 'Leave it up a little bit longer,' and then they said, 'Let's leave it up longer and longer and longer."
Furthemore, Trump said this about the project. "Well, they never took it down, and you know we're building something in front of the White House that's quite attractive to a lot of people. Really, it's going to have the big UFC fight on June 14, and I'm looking at it and maybe we'll never ever take it down."
Will the UFC Arena Stay Forever?
It's true that sometimes, Donald Trump mentions ideas that he later thinks better of. Or that generate a lot of unpleasant controversy. Actually, this proposal for the UFC Arena's potential future might be a passing fancy of his. Although maybe it will come to fruition. We will just have to wait and see.
