Truckload Of Curly Fries Go Up In Flames

Some disasters are almost too devastating for me to write about.

Over 30 people dialed 911 as the tractor-trailer of curly fries went up in flames on Interstate 95 in Maine. Emergency services arrived to find the trailer tipped on its side, and engulfed in flame. With nothing more they could do for the poor fries, they set to work putting it out.

Initially, fire services hoped that the cargo was something boring like tires or chemicals. When they found out that the truck was carrying curly fries, they were devastated. Somewhere, someone in Maine is going to be told that they can't have their favorite side with their burger, and it will be heart breaking.

Once they had determined that the burning cargo wasn't hazardous or toxic, they focussed their efforts on quenching the flame. However, no matter how quickly they worked, it was clear not a single curl of fry would make it out alive.

Road Closed And Fries Destroyed

The whole road was closed due to the unfortunate loss of the curly fries fire. Traffic backed up for several hours as the firefighters battled the blaze. There was no space to pull out, and no other option for the frustrated drivers than to wait.

Over 60,000 gallons were reportedly used to put out the truck fire. Thankfully though, nobody was hurt in the incident. But, curly fries' lives are important, and I will personally be holding a vigil for them tonight by eating as many as I humanly can in honor of our brave fallen curlies.

"It was quickly determined that the cargo was frozen curly fries and not a hazardous material," the York department said about the tragic affair. "The trailer and the cargo were a total loss." I am sure the brave fire department did everything they could to save the precious cargo.

I hope there is some kind of aftercare available for the firefighters and road users who had to witness such a horrific waste of delicious curly fries. They lost their curly crunchy, salty potential because of one tragic accident. Think of them next time you enjoy your curly fries.
