Charlotte Ayanna, one of the stars of the film Training Day, was arrested earlier this month after someone alleged the actress threatened his life and battered him.

Ayanna was the wife of Ethan Hawke in the award-winning film. She also won the Miss Teen USA competition in 1993.
What Led to the "Training Day" Star's Arrest?
As In Touch Weekly reports, deputies came on the scene for a welfare check on Oct. 8 in West Hollywood, California. The alleged victim said Ayanna was menacing him. He also claimed that Ayanna spread cremated human remains inside the home.
Authorities also allege that Ayanna kicked a deputy during their investigation. She was then arrested on suspicion of criminal threats, elder abuse, battery on a peace officer, and depositing human remains outside a cemetery.
However, prosecutors filed a different set of charges on Oct. 12: battery, elder or dependent adult abuse, and battery on a peace officer. These misdemeanor charges do not include the scattering of ashes or criminal threats mentioned in the arrest report.
Charlotte Ayanna Denies the Charges
Ayanna disputes the arrest. As of Friday, Oct. 16, she remained in custody on $50,000 bail. Neither the alleged victim nor the identity of the remains has been identified.
"It was an unfair, illegal false arrest," Ayanna said. "Not only was I never read my rights, including the Miranda rights, but I was never even interviewed to talk to."
Ayanna was born in Puerto Rico. She was then known as Charlotte Lopez. Ayanna then moved to Vermont as a child. She spent 16 years living in foster homes because her mother was considered mentally unfit. Then, in 1994, she was adopted into a foster home.
Ayanna later wrote the 1996 book Lost in the System with Susan Dworkin, which detailed her experiences in the foster system. Before starring in Training Day, she appeared in several TV shows, including Profiler and Entourage.
