The Grammy-nominated country music star will play a military veteran on the Monday night medical drama.
Trace Adkins is a busy guy. In addition to his achievements in country music, he is a reality show star, actor and author. He is also committed to giving back to our men and women in uniform as a spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Program and frequent USO Tour performer.
This May, he will return to television as a military veteran on the NBC medical drama The Night Shift. Hollywood website TheWrap reported Adkins will portray the leader of a PTSD therapy group attended by one of the show's lead characters. Dr. TC Callahan, played by Irish actor Eoin Macken, is an Army veteran dealing with PTSD and meets Adkins' character at a group meeting.
Adkins is an experienced actor, with feature film and television roles under his belt. He has also lent his voice to the animated series American Dad! and King of the Hill. According to his website, Adkins will star in Roadrunner, an upcoming film about car racing. This film will also star Clint Eastwood's 28-year-old son, Scott.
The Night Shift airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
