Every Item on the Chick-Fil-A Menu, Ranked

We've done it. With a little bit of elbow grease and a lot of belt loosening, we've definitively ranked all your favorite items from the Chick-Fil-A menu. In fact, we even ranked some of your probably-not-so-favorites (looking at you, superfood).

After a grueling scientific process, Wide Open Country came up with a ranking for the top 30 items from the iconic Atlanta fast food chicken joint. And we did it all for you, the people.

You see, before when you ordered the chicken biscuit instead of the chicken, egg and cheese bagel, you didn't realize you were making the wrong choice. It wasn't your fault. But now if you make that same (wrong) judgment call, it totally is your fault. We've got the list for you right here.

There are definitely a few surprises along the way. For one, Chick-Fil-A's healthy menu items actually stack up fairly well. When you check out the nutrition facts, you realize the restaurant offers more choices of tastier foods than most if you're trying to stay healthy. (That being said, please don't look up how many calories you'd be eating if you formed a combo out of some of the highest-ranked items — it will only make you weep into your sandwich).

And yes, we totally used a process. The metrics for ranking included overall taste, "uniqueness" of the item compared to the other top 10 comparable fast food spots and the item's "iconic" status. In other words, if the mention of Chick-Fil-A makes you think about that item. Then, we arranged them all and made any obvious adjustments.

So here you have it. The unequivocal, undeniable, inarguable fool-proof ranking of the top 30 items from the Chick-Fil-A menu.

30. Frosted Lemonade

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Like a dreamsicle but with lemon instead of orange, and also worse, frosted lemonade is basically just their fresh-squeezed lemonade mixed with their "IceDream." Which is weird, because separate of each other, those are both great. Combine them, and you get a confusing, frothy and forgettable waste of calories. And probably some lemon seeds (at least we did).

29. Greek Yogurt Parfait

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

A great idea, the Greek yogurt parfait is like 90 percent mediocre greek yogurt and six berries. Honestly, triple the fruit and double the granola and you'd be getting somewhere. And it's still better than McDonald's. But if you're going the healthy route, you're better off just getting the fruit cup (which is not on this list, because it's a fruit cup).

28. Hash Browns

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Meh. Every restaurant has them. These coin-size potato bites are mostly filler, and though every breakfast combo includes hash browns, subbing fruit is a better bet. Sonic's tater tots and Whataburger's hash brown sticks are both much better, though these are on par with other breakfast potato offerings from fast food spots.

27. Sausage/Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Loses major points for being a super common item, and also not being as good as a lot of competitors. The sausage is kind of bland and the bacon is mostly limp, while the biscuit gets masked by the other ingredients and lacks the buttery magic of their more famous breakfast item. Plus it's up to 600 calories — not worth it for what you get.

26. Sausage/Bacon, Egg and Cheese Muffin

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Slightly better than the biscuit version because the muffin blends better while also being not quite as bad for you. But still, super common item and not the best of its competition.

25. Superfood

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Another noble effort in healthy side items, the superfood is just too sweet to really get behind. It's like, you've got kale so you add naturally sweet berries to balance it. Cool! That should do it for the sweetness. But no, then they toss it in a sweet vinaigrette type dressing and add candied nuts on top. Kind of defeats the purpose.

24. Grilled Chicken Cool Wrap

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Well, it's cold, which kind of sucks. But then again, that's in the title. The filling isn't bad, but the tortilla has a weird, spongy texture. Also you kind of need to dip it into a sauce to get any significant flavor.

23. Grilled Nuggets

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

So the grilled nuggets are mostly just chunks of boneless breast, and being what they are, they taste pretty good. Plus no other fast food place offers them. But they need some major dipping sauce action if you want to make a real meal out of them. Not bad for a protein-packed snack, though.

22. Grilled Chicken Sandwich

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Same deal as the nuggets, but add a bun, lettuce and tomato and you get something a little more substantial. Still needs one or two packets of the Chick-Fil-A sauce to help it out.

21. Grilled Market Salad

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Well, it's a chicken salad. So that's the bad news. But the good news is, it's actually a really good salad. Hands down the best of any fast food place. The veggies are crisp. Fruit in salads is still kind of a weird thing (which is why it ranked third of the salads), but hey, it's a decent flavor profile. And they've got plenty of dressings.

20. Cobb Salad

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

A little better than the grilled market salad because it doesn't have that weird "cold, soft fruit" thing going on. And it has bits of fried chicken.

19. Spicy Southwest Salad

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

The best of the salads, if only because it's got lots of flavor while still keeping the calories down (which is the point of a salad). I mean, it's good enough that if you're watching what you eat but everybody else wants Chick-Fil-A, you won't feel duped for snagging one.

18. Chicken Salad Sandwich

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Chicken salad has great flavor, and if the bread isn't dry, it's a great option that fills you up. Though let's be real, the sandwich actually has more calories than a chicken sandwich, so it's not like it's that much healthier. But it is heartier. You can also get a chicken salad cup without the bread, if that's your thing.

17. Chick-n-Strips

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

In theory, Chick-n-Strips should be right next to nuggets because they're almost the exact same. Except there's a huge flaw in the strips, which is that it's just too much chicken to breading ratio. It affects the overall taste. And there are a few places that do chicken strips much better.

16. Egg White Grill

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Ah yes, the most controversial of breakfast items. This healthy low calorie bad boy replaced the spicy chicken biscuit and people just about rioted. Well, I hate to say it haters, but it's actually pretty darn tasty. If you're used to egg whites, the texture won't bother you. If you're not, it may take some getting used to. But overall, the egg white grill is a solid breakfast option.

15. Chicken Noodle Soup

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Here's a shocker: As common as chicken noodle soup is, almost nobody serves it at fast food restaurants. Chick-Fil-A's is super flavorful and the noodles are nice and big. But sometimes the chicken is a little too shredded. Still, the chicken soup is an excellent side substitution. Or a large chicken soup could actually tide over some big appetites. They also serve chicken tortilla soup for a limited time, but not enough to land on the list.

14. Frosted Coffee

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Good coffee flavor and much, much better than its frosted lemonade counterpart. It's not a fancy coffee drink, but it's cheaper and just a small upcharge to your meal.

13. Chicken Minis

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Nuggets wrapped inside a tasty mini-roll with a sweet glaze. Great breakfast snack. But loses points for the meager size of nuggets.

12. Breakfast Burrito (with Chicken)

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Delicious. Probably in the top two of breakfast burritos from fast food places. Comes with grilled veggies inside, and the cut up chicken pieces rock. You gotta put the salsa in, too.

11. Chicken Sandwich

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

The iconic item that started it all. Why not in the top 10? For one, cheese makes everything better. For two, it's kind of become less sexy over the years compared to other options.

10. Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Yeah, cheese and bacon do wonders for a grilled chicken sandwich. Take this bad boy over the original chicken any day.

9. Deluxe Chicken Sandwich

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

But uh oh, here comes the original chicken sandwich roaring back — when you put some cheese, lettuce and tomato on it.

8. Chicken Biscuit

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Slap some jelly inside the buttery Chick-Fil-A chicken biscuit and you've got a breakfast item that's hard to beat anywhere, not just in fast food.

7. Chocolate Chunk Cookie

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

For real, this freaking thing is amazing. Crispy edges, gooey center, hints of oatmeal and huge, melty chunks of chocolate. Too bad one cookie sets you back 350 calories. But still, so worth it.

6. Chicken, Egg and Cheese Bagel

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Yep, it's the best thing on the breakfast menu. The bagel has amazing flavor, while the egg and cheese complement the chicken perfectly. Plus, it's hearty enough to actually tide you over for most of the day.

5. Chicken Nuggets

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Something about the bite-sized pieces is just so captivating. Each bite is just right. Plus, tons of great sauce choices (don't overlook the sweet & spicy sriracha). Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets are pretty legendary in the fast food world.

4. Spicy Chicken Sandwich

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

A hint of kick takes the regular chicken sandwich into the top five. Put a little ranch sauce on there and holy moly, it's a party.

3. Waffle Potato Fries

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

The iconic fast food original. Still so darn good.

2. Milkshake

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Sorry Sonic, you may have the most flavor options, but you just can't beat a Chick-Fil-A milkshake.

1. Spicy Deluxe Chicken Sandwich

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

And here it is, the king of kings sandwich. The spicy kick, the cheese, the buttery bun. It's all there. This bad boy has quite the fan club, and for good reason.

There you have it — the top 30 items from the Chick-Fil-A menu, ranked. We did it so you don't have to. But you totally can if you want to. Oh, and by the way, if you made a combo out of the top three you'd be taking in at least 1,500 calories in one meal, according to Chick-Fil-A nutrition charts. Oh, and you can order online now so you don't even have to wait long to gorge yourself. Happy eating!
