10 Texas Car Shows You Should Check out This Summer

Summer is the perfect time to roll out that hot rod you have hiding in your garage. If you don't have a classic car of your own, you can get your fill by checking out one of the many Texas car shows coming up this summer.

Mark your calendars and hit the gas, because we're giving you 10 of the best car shows across the Lone Star State.

1. Annual Nostalgia Car Show & Cruise

The Annual Nostalgia Car Show & Cruise is held every year just south of Lubbock, Texas. A ton of classic cars, jeeps and trucks come out for the event every year. One year, an antique firetruck even made the trip to the show.

2. Lonestar Round Up

The Lonestar Round Up features hot rods and custom cars from all over the country. The show began in 2002 and takes place over the course of an entire weekend. The event features live music, vendors and a lot of delicious barbecue.

3. 2017 Corvette Invasion

If you love Corvettes, this Austin event is just for you. The annual Corvette Invasion is coming to the city July 15 and 16. Admission is free for all spectators, and you can expect to see over 300 Corvettes and their owners in attendance.

4. Hallettsville Truck Pull

For something a little different from a classic car show, check out the Hallettsville Truck Pull. This is an event that will take place rain or shine in Hallettsville, Texas. It features some pretty awesome classic diesel trucks and tractors showing off what they can do.

5. Goodtimes Car Club Picnic

One of the best things about the Goodtimes Car Club Picnic is that it has a lowrider hopping contest. It takes place in Fort Worth, Texas and has food, music and a huge selection of classic cars and motorcycles. A professional motorcycle cruise takes place on the first day of the event.

6. Rock Baby Rock It

Rock Baby Rock It is held annually in Houston. Not only do you get to enjoy a lot of great cars, but this weekend event brings out great food and music from all over. And yes, that includes barbecue.

7. Annual Hill Country Swap Meet

A lot of great cars come out for this yearly event. 2017 marks the 40th anniversary of the swap. Over 900 spaces are available for cars. The event also includes a flea market and various concessions.

8. Cars Under the Stars

Cars Under the Stars is held on July 29 in Sachse, Texas, and features around 200 classic cars. If you want to enter your vehicle, there are several different sponsor levels available.

9. Back 2 School Benefits

Some school districts are also climbing aboard the car show train. For example, Ferris, Texas is having a Back 2 School Benefit and Car Show on July 29. They are welcoming cars of all types, including vintage cars, sports cars, muscle cars and much more.

10. Alameda Auto Electric Car Show

This event is a little different from the other car shows on the list. It's a fundraiser for the Child Crisis Center of El Paso and features electric vehicles. It's is an unusual but interesting event and is free for spectators to attend.
