Today host, Dylan Dreyer, is opening up about a personal painful memory. She once had a miscarriage while on vacation and hid it from her friends.

Speaking on the Today podcast The Parent Chat, Dreyer shared her past experience with a miscarriage. She said at the time she was "hiding the fact that I was pregnant," and "pretending to drink, but not really drinking."
"I've suffered one miscarriage, and I remember, we were kind of on a group vacation," Dreyer shared. "So, there was just like a lot of people around, and everybody's happy, everybody's on vacation."
The Today host said she hid everything from her friends. It was an extremely isolating experience for her. "I remember also hiding the fact that I was, in addition to hiding the fact that I was pregnant, dealing with this miscarriage," Dreyer shared. "And I'm surrounded by people."
'Today' Host Talks Miscarriage
It was an emotional time for Dreyer. She just wanted to cry.
"I'm crying in my bed in so much pain, because no one really tells you how painful, physically painful, it is," Dreyer continued. "And I'm like, 'Man, I wish I could share this with someone,' and you can't always do that."
It's an experience that The Viall Files hosts Nick Viall and Natalie Joy can relate to. Joy experienced three miscarriages before welcoming twin girls. She opened up publicly so people like Dreyer could feel supported and not alone.
"How do I talk pop culture, like things that [I don't care], you know, like this is just real life things that are happening to me and I can't go on this show and act like they're not," Natalie shared. It's something Dreyer probably could relate to.
Natalie and Nick welcomed twin girls earlier this year.
"It's been an emotional journey starting with multiple miscarriages, but we are so grateful to have our rainbow babies," Nick and Natalie said.
Meanwhile, the Today host is the mother of three sons Cal, 9, Ollie, 6, and Rusty, 4. Dreyer shares her children with ex-husband Brian Fichera. The two broke up last year with Dreyer filing for divorce this year.
