McGraw and Hill stopped by the Oprah Winfrey Show back in 2006 to discuss both their careers and longtime marriage. During the hour-long segment, viewers got a special glimpse into their life at home when the couple taught Oprah how to prepare one of the meals that McGraw cooked for his future wife during their courtship.
A year after McGraw moved to Nashville in 1989, he was still struggling to make ends meet. In search of an affordable meal that would satisfy his craving for southern cooking, McGraw called up his grandmother. She supplied him with her recipe for chicken and dumplings, and walked him through the process step-by-step.
Over the years, McGraw has made the recipe his own. During the beginning of their relationship, McGraw cooked the meal as a way of winning over Hill. The country star credits the meal for both advancing their relationship and helping him survive the tough times before he hit it big.
Although Hill doesn't seem too excited about the tongue-and-cheek jokes her husband throws out during their cooking segment, its obvious how much these two love working aside one another.
