While backstage for a Nov. 16 appearance on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and their band warmed up with an impromptu performance of classic Elvis Presley song "Suspicious Minds." What starts out as an energetic singalong takes a hilarious turn toward the end, highlighted by McGraw's full-blown Elvis impersonation.
Footage of the singalong shows McGraw hopping around energetically as the band provides piano, acoustic guitar and hand clap accompaniment. Like on the album promoted that night, The Rest of Our Life, Hill's gorgeous harmony vocals sweeten McGraw's instantly recognizable delivery. The entire presentation points to a time when parlor pianos sparked clap-along songs for hosts and house guests.

"Suspicious Minds" may be the most recognizable song among Presley's 68 Comeback Special era singles. It helps define Presley's evolution from movie star to Las Vegas showman. After Presley adapted his stage show, karate stances became as definitive as his thrusting hips and curled lip. Once McGraw's smooth drawl starts resembling Presley's, his attempted stage moves turn a good cover into a great laugh. It's more charming than corny, with McGraw's poses reaching Orion on the Elvis tribute act scale. Although McGraw's dancing went to a new level here, he's still less talented than Hill based on another viral video.
