When Tim McGraw appeared on Repeat After Me, hilarity ensued.
Tim McGraw proved how funny he was when he hosted Saturday Night Live in 2008, so it was no surprise when Wendi McLendon-Covey had Tim McGraw on her hidden camera show Repeat After Me.
The show is the brainchild of Ellen DeGeneres and involves host McLendon-Covey feeding comedic lines to stars as they interact with other people in seemingly average situations. Probably best known for her roles in Reno 911 and Bridesmaids, McLendon-Covey started out as a stand-up comic and has no shortage of humorous improvisational skills.
The show opens with Tim McGraw waiting in a living room type setting. A nurse named Pauline comes in, and the host directs McGraw to introduce himself as "Timmy McGraw" and to refuse to answer her diagnostic questions about his age. He begins by stating he wants to cover some "ground rules" and continues:
"Number one, I won't take off my hat. Number two, my ears are very ticklish, so you can't touch them. And number three, no downtown funny business."
He then goes on, saying his vision is blurry, and states:
"I knew I had a problem when I woke up this morning and my wife had four bazoombas." he says to the amused nurse. "At first I was like 'yeehaw!' but then I was like 'yeenaw'."
After a few more random humorous statements, Wendi instructs him to get up to get his phone, and walk into a wall, which he does. After blaming his run-in with the wall on lack of depth perception, he continues on to wander around the room with his arms out, making beeping noises and saying he'll use his "sonar, like a bat".
