TikTok pranks have been getting out of hand for a while now. Sure, when everyone is in on the joke, it's all fun and games. However, if you find yourself becoming the target of a prankster, things can often escalate pretty quickly.

Unfortunately, the San Diego family found this out the hard way. On Friday, August 21, a hooded figure turned up on their doorstep and began repeatedly kicking their front door. Of course, this behavior was all done in the name of TikTok. Nevertheless, the prank wasn't well-thought-out, as their actions left the door with significant damage.
The prankster damaged the door frame and caused plaster around the door to crumble. All in all, the value of the repairs is estimated to be in the region of $2,000.
"When somebody compromises the security of your house, it's very disturbing and alarming," Van De Walker (who lives at the property) said, via ABC 10. "I'm already thinking over $2,000 in damage."
When watching back the surveillance video, it's clear that the prankster wasn't on their own. Multiple bikes are visible in the background of the footage. They were all watching on as the door continued to be kicked repeatedly.
Van de Walker Chased the TikToker Down the Street
When speaking with ABC10, Walker noted that she didn't take the incident lying down. Instead, she looked to confront the prankster.
"I chased them down the street," Van De Walker said. "Few choice words as I was running towards them."
As Walker continued to share her frustrations with the incident, she began venting about the rise in riskier pranks.
"Disgusting. It's gotten out of control," Van De Walker said. "Someone is going to get hurt, someone is going to knock on the wrong door. These teens need to be held accountable."
Currently, there's no information regarding whether the prankster has been caught. However, Walker does have a point. If these pranks aren't stopped soon, it's only a matter of time before one goes horribly wrong.
Unfortunately, social media loves the shock value. As such, people will continue pushing boundaries for as long as they can.
