Hutchins gained over 170,000 followers on TikTok under the account 'healingwithbailey.' It began when doctors diagnosed her with stage 4 colon cancer with peritoneal metastasis in 2023.
Colon Cancer Takes Life Of Young TikTok Star
"I'm devastated to say that my Bailey B has passed away last night," Caden wrote on Instagram. He captioned this under a photo of his wife looking over a beautiful landscape. "She fought such a tough incredible fight these past two years and she's no longer suffering from all the torturous pain she has endured during this journey."
Caden described being his wife's caregiver as "such a blessing," and he still felt in denial about losing his best friend. "Your faith could move mountains Baby, unfortunately God had bigger plans for you Up Above. Until we meet again."
His post in honor of his wife earned over 10,000 likes, and the comments are flooded with mourning followers. Meanwhile, her family posted a video on TikTok announcing her death alongside beautiful footage from the Hutchins' wedding.
"Although we selfishly wanted her here forever we are at peace knowing that she no longer has to endure any pain or suffering," the video caption read. "Bailey fought so hard these past 2 years. It's been an incredible journey to watch and I am so honored to be your husband and caregiver."
The caption also described this past month as being a "devastating nightmare" for Bailey and her family. They described her spirit as being as "radiant as the sun" and they promised her story would live on. The TikTok video already has over eight million views and nearly 10,000 comments.
Colon cancer typically appears later in life, but Bailey is tragically so young to have suffered from it. It's usually curable if caught early, but it depends on how much it has spread. According to the Cleveland Clinic, colon cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in Americans.
Bailey's story has already touched so many lives. It's clear that her journey has educated many on the importance of getting colonoscopies, but also how to stay positive during hard times.
