A runaway donkey named Freddy injured three people after reportedly becoming aggressive in Germany.

The bizarre incident unfolded in Holssel after Freddy escaped alongside a horse and members of the public attempted to bring the animals under control.
Three people suffered injuries during the encounter, including a woman who required hospital treatment.
Freddy's owner eventually arrived at the scene and took the donkey away.
Three People Injured in Donkey Attack
The three people suffered injuries while attempting to restrain Freddy after spotting him on the loose with the escaped horse.
As locals became aware of the runaway animals, several people stepped in to try to contain them and prevent the situation from escalating.
Two motorists managed to catch Freddy and attempted to keep hold of him. However, the donkey reportedly forced himself against their vehicle before the encounter took a violent turn.
Freddy then reportedly "became very aggressive," kicking and biting the two motorists.
A third person stepped in to help but also suffered injuries during the chaotic encounter.
Local reports state that the two motorists escaped with minor injuries. The third victim, a woman, suffered more serious injuries and required treatment at a hospital.
Cuxhaven police said in a statement that "the reason for the animal's aggressive reaction is still unclear."
Tiger Escaped Private Facility in Germany
The unusual encounter comes just months after another serious animal incident in Germany.
In May 2026, a tiger attacked a 72-year-old man at a private facility near Leipzig.
Reports stated that the man was inside the tiger's enclosure when the attack occurred.
The animal subsequently escaped from the enclosure, prompting an armed police response. Officers later located the tiger and shot it dead.
The facility reportedly belonged to Carmen Zander, a controversial trainer and private owner known as Germany's "Tiger Queen".
The tiger was one of eight kept at the facility.
Police said officers killed the escaped animal to eliminate any further threat to members of the public.
Authorities reported that none of the other animals escaped and conducted a drone search of the site to ensure the facility remained fully secure.
