Thomas Rhett Reveals The Big Investment He Made That Saves His Life On Tour

Thomas Rhett is eager to kick off his Better In Boots Tour, which begins on June 5 in Rogers, Arkansas. Rhett is looking forward to the upcoming tour, which will be a lot easier than some of his previous tours, thanks to the addition of one handy piece of technology.

"Three years ago, I invested in a teleprompter, and it's saved my life," Rhett reveals on Country Countdown USA. "Knowing it's there helps my brain to relax. We sometimes get into this thing where we take requests, and they pick obscure songs. So I'm grateful I have the teleprompter on those shows."

Rhett is also grateful for his opening act, relative newcomer Tucker Wetmore. Rhett had a feeling that Wetmore would be the perfect addition to the tour.

"When we were looking to go on tour this year, I was wondering which one of the new artists I'm vibing with," Rhett shares. "The more I've gotten to know Tucker, I'm just excited to have new blood out there. Very excited to have Tucker out there."

Thomas Rhett's Family

Rhett's wife Lauren and the couple's four children will likely join Rhett for at least some of his tour dates this year.

"My kids love getting on the bus. They love getting in their bunks," Rhett reveals on Audacy's Katie & Company. "They think it's the coolest thing in the world. ... It's pretty full circle because it's exactly what I used to love to do with my Dad."

It's his love for his family that makes Rhett keep turning down reality TV shows, even though the opportunity could be quite lucrative.

"Honestly, we've been asked a bunch of times to do a reality show," Rhett tells his record label. "But I just don't think that's something me and Lauren. I mean, we give enough of ourselves, I think, on social media. And we pretty much open our home and our marriage to our fans in a way where it's like, you see the good, bad, the ugly."

"I think a reality show might be too much," he adds, "I don't think I want to be like an actor-actor, but I think it would be pretty fun to be in a few scenes in a big movie or something like that."
