Thomas Rhett Wins CMA Award for Music Video of the Year

Thomas Rhett won't have to wait around to see if he's a winner of a CMA award this year. The singer is an early winner of the CMA award for Music Video of the Year. Rhett takes home the prize for his video for "Marry Me," which was directed by TK McKamy. The award will go to both Rhett and McKamy.

Other videos nominated in the category include Carrie Underwood's "Cry Pretty," Sugarland and Taylor Swift's "Babe," Dan and Shay's "Tequila" and Chris Janson's "Drunk Girl."

The award was announced on Wednesday morning (Nov. 14) on Good Morning America, which was broadcast from Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row in downtown Nashville.

Rhett is also nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Life Changes.

"Marry Me," written by Rhett, Shane McAnally, Ashley Gorley and Jesse Frasure, was released in 2017 and hit No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Country Airplay chart.

Kenny Chesney and David Lee Murphy were also announced as the winners of the CMA for Musical Event of the Year for their collaboration on "Everything's Gonna Be Alright."

The CMA Awards air on Nov. 14 on ABC at 7 p.m. CT. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will co-host the ceremony, marking their 11th consecutive year as host of the CMAs.
