Last July, it was revealed that Maren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini were working together on some new songs.

"We've recently just reconnected," Ballerini shared. "I've always really looked up to her songwriting and her musicality, and we've never written together."
But Ballerini is far from the only singer collaborating with Morris. In an Instagram Story post shared on Friday, Jan. 23, a picture revealed her ex-husband Ryan Hurd holding a microphone and wearing headphones. Producer Jon Green was shown working on a laptop.
The picture was captioned, "We're back."
It appears that the "Chasing After You" couple is working together again since they split two years ago.
Why Did Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd Divorce?
Morris and Hurd met during a co-writing session and began dating two years later. The couple were wed in March 2018 and welcomed their son Hayes two years later. Then, in October 2023, Morris filed for divorce. The split was finalized in January 2024.
While the two are no longer married, Morris has said that she and Hurd live only five minutes apart. As we reported back in May, this makes co-parenting easier for the couple.
"It's just so nice to know mothers that have gone through this and made it out the other side," said Morris. "Their kids are happy, and they're friends with their exes, and they have family dinners. I'm getting into that space now, which is so much more peaceful."
Morris Came Out as Bisexual Last Year
Months after her divorce from Hurd, Morris came out as bisexual. She talked about it while promoting her album, DREAMSICLE.
"I knew that about myself, but I didn't really feel like I was a part of the community," she said. "I felt like I was an ally and like, supportive of the community, but I just maybe internally hadn't had the bravery to go there in myself and say the words out loud, which is so funny because I'm so open."
The singer then released the single "Too Good," which was inspired by her dating experiences after her divorce.
"This one was actually after I started dating a little bit and just met some f---ing bums who couldn't pay the tab," said Morris. "So I brought to my cowriters this idea, and I was like, 'I've been dating a few losers. I think it's just a stroke of bad luck. It's gonna end soon. I want it to feel like 'Delta Dawn' plus an Irish drinking song.'"
