Some music stars have a signature look that is as much a part of their professional identity as their voice. Dolly Parton has her flowing blonde locks. Willie Nelson always dons his bandanna and t-shirt. The great Johnny Cash was known as the Man in Black because of his somber outfits. Chris Stapleton has his lengthy beard. But is the beloved Traveller artist ready to take a pair of scissors to it? He dropped some hints recently when he was a guest on the podcast Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard.

Stapleton Shared His Thoughts About His Beard
On the podcast, the singer said that he can foresee a time down the road when he might get rid of his facial hair. A clean-shaven Stapleton? It might be in the cards. Someday, when he brings down the curtain on making music and retires, he may want to ditch the beard to be not-so-conspicuous. That certainly would make it much easier for Stapleton to "hide in plain sight" as a citizen, not a country crooner
The Grammy Awards Have Been Kind to Him
With 11 wins and 26 nominations, Chris Stapleton has earned his share of recognition via the coveted golden statuettes. When it comes to excellence in music, he leads the pack. This year is no exception. Stapleton is in the running for four Grammys.
Per the Grammy website, he is up for Best Country Solo Performance for "Bad As I Used To Be", Best Country Song for "A Song To Sing", Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Honky Tonk Hall Of Fame", and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "A Song To Sing".
The Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
His Philosophy About Awards
He has a great attitude about awards. Stapleton focuses first on doing great work, not carting home all kinds of accolades. The "Tennessee Whiskey" singer said per the outlet, "I don't make records to win awards. I make records to make records, and hopefully make the records as good as they can be. That's what these awards hopefully represent."
For Chris Stapleton, it's all about quality and craftsmanship. That has put him where he is today.
