Sometimes people want to be successful overnight. They seek celebrity, fortune, acclaim, and validation in one big, quick windfall. At least one country music star is extremely glad that success came to him little by little, when he was truly prepared and mature enough to handle it. Speaking on that and other subjects on the Like A Farmer podcast last month, Riley Green mused about the onset of fame. It mercifully came later in his life and that is fine with him.

Green Believes That Getting Famous When He Was Young Would Have Been "Ugly"
Green, 37, said that "I think if I would have had any type of success similar to this when I was in my early 20s, it [would have] been ugly." He added, "I think you get a bit mature and you can kinda step back from things a little easier as you get older. I was really fortunate that my success was really gradual." He clarified that further. Green's success, in his opinion, "keeps hitting a different level and a different gear."
It's definitely in high gear now! Green sure is hugely successful by anyone's standards. His duet with Ella Langley, "You Look Like You Love Me", has been wildly and lastingly popular. He earned three CMA awards in November. That is just one indication of his masterful singing and potent charisma.
He Shrugs Off the Persistent Buzz About Who He's Dating
Green has been linked with female country singers like Langley and Megan Moroney. (He denies any romantic relationships with them.) The "Worst Way" singer doesn't allow all the baseless chatter to faze him. Dismissing it as "outlandish," he said that "it doesn't even bother [him] anymore." Another perk of being famous later in life is cultivating an attitude like that. The more famous someone is, the more likely they will be gossiped about. It comes with the territory.
Social Media Routinely Teems With Speculation About Green's Love Life
He addressed the topic again on the radio show Country Nights With Bev Rainey. Green has a sense of ironic humor about it. "I find out who I'm dating, weekly, on social media." The singer continued, "I'm rumored to have dated a lot of people, but I kind of understand that. People always long for that Tim [McGraw] and Faith [Hill], Johnny and June [Cash], George [Jones] and Tammy [Wynette] thing,"
Riley Green firmly debunked the rumors about him and Ella Langley. "Me and Ella have two giant songs together, and I think fans kind of want to believe that what you're singing about is real. I can comprehend people thinking that there's something going on." They also sang together on "Don't Mind If I Do".
