Politics these days always just seems to be divisive. Nothing anyone thinks can go unsaid without a tirade of backlash - no matter what side of the aisle they're on.
So it might come as a surprise that these country artists are collabing together despite having different opinions. Well, it's happening - and they've explained why, per People.
In case you weren't aware, the Brothers Osborne aren't exactly quite about their progressive views. John once described the pair as the "lonely liberals" in their Deale, Maryland hometown. As well as this, TJ publicly came out as gay back in 2021.
But, they recently collaborated with Cody Johnson. Of course, music artists collab all the time - but Cody Johnson himself is known for being quite the patriot.
The artists put that aside whilst working on "Born And Raised Hell". They explained that it's pretty safe to "assume" they've got different beliefs on that front. But, "Those collaborations had nothing to do with anything other than we respect Cody as a performer and a singer," TJ explained.
"There's huge differences between he and I. Cody's a great guy, and he may do things that other people disagree with, or I disagree with. But really, the sum of Cody Johnson is an awesome, awesome person."

The Country Artists Consider Johnson a "Friend" Despite Political Differences
TJ added that he considers Johnson a "friend" - even adding that he thinks he's a "badass" that he is "accepting [of] us for who we are."
"We hung out quite a bit back in the day, not a ton, but enough to know what someone is like, to their core," he explained. "And he's the same dude." It's really heartwarming to know that people can get along in this way - we all know the stories of political differences causing division within friend groups.
He also said that the studio experience was just as great as the friend experience. "Being in the studio with him was great, being on stage with him at CMA Fest was great."
TJ added, "He knows that he's Cody Johnson, but he's really a humble dude, and there's so many values that we do have. I'm a fan, and I'm also proud of the collaborations we did."
