The comedian hosts This Past Weekend w/Theo Von on YouTube, where he boasts over 4 million subscribers. His previous interviews with stars Katt Williams, Joaquin Phoenix and Antonio Brown have all produced viral moments, for better or worse. His fearless inclusion of red-button topics has made his podcast a massive hit.

Theo Von carried that attitude with him to The Joe Rogan Experience, where he shared a bold, inflammatory take on the war in Iran.

Speaking on the podcast, Von proclaimed: "I'm sick of rich people not putting their f***ing kids over in these wars. Put your f***ing honkey a** kids up there. Let them go shed some f***ing blood. Especially if they are asking for it. Put your fancy a** kid up there. [It] makes me mad, bro."

Some believed his remarks were meant to call out anyone who instigates a war they themselves would not participate in, while others felt the comedian's remarks were in poor taste.

Theo Von Shows Support for American Troops

In either case, Theo Von has since shared a statement on social media elaborating further on his comments. Unsurprisingly, he did not waver in his stance and doubled down on his viral take.

"I meant the elites and politicians that are leading us into these wars might make different choices if it was their children," Von wrote on X.

The comedian added that he never intended to disrespect the armed forces and holds them in high regard.

"I meant the elites and politicians that are leading us into these wars might make different choices if it was their children. It was hard for me to be angry and talk at the same time. I am thankful for our troops who serve and are far braver than me. And also wtf do I know."

Despite the apology, his comments still proved polarizing, with social media users sympathizing with and refuting them in the replies below the post.
