'The Voice': Team Gwen Singers 'Serenade' Her With Smooth '70s Tune

"I'm so selfish."

On Tuesday night's episode of The Voice, it was Eli Ward and Jason Arcilla's turn to battle against one another. The Team Gwen singers were matched by the coach to sing Bread's 1970 tune, "Make It With You."

Stefani reasoned that the smooth, soft rock tune would bring out the soulful voices of both Ward and Arcilla, and that assumption was correct. The two took to the stage and entertained the coaches and audience with not only their flawless vocals, but their polished dance moves as well. Both singers showcased their individual strengths throughout the performance — Arcilla with his unique, soulful voice and Ward with his stage presence and crystal-clear voice.

"Gwen what a song choice," Legend said after the performance. "That was so fun and soulful, and you got these handsome gentlemen to serenade you."

"I know," Stefani gushed. "It's like one of my favorite songs. I'm so selfish."

Legend continued, complimenting the singers on their "smooth" dance moves. He then praised the "gentleness" of Arcilla's voice and Ward's confidence. McEntire also enjoyed the performance, praising their choreography and interaction with the audience. Horan specifically enjoyed Ward's "'50s meets '70s" vibe. He also said Arcilla has a built-in "etherealness" about him. While Legend and McEntire chose Ward to win the battle, Horan leaned towards Arcilla.

There's no doubt that Stefani had a tough choice to make between the two artists. She admitted that, even in the moment, she had "zero" inklings about who to pick as the winner. In the end, she chose to go with the person she felt is more ready for the competition, and that person is Arcilla.

"This is so upsetting," she said as she deliberated. "I'm going to choose the person I think is ready right, right now. I'm going to say, Jason, you won the battle."
