'The Voice': Coaches Agree Reba Is the Most ‘Ruthless’ After Sly Move

Queen Reba is not holding back.

While the Blind Auditions are winding down on The Voice, the competition is heating up, and the coaches are ready to win through any means necessary. New coach Reba McEntire is standing out as someone not to be messed with, and she proved that during Monday night's (Oct. 9) episode. In fact, in a coaches' conversation backstage, John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Niall Horan agreed McEntire is the most "ruthless" coach. She then reminded them that they "better be nice" to her, as she was the only coach with a block left.

The block button allows the coaches to prohibit another from recruiting a singer onto their team, and McEntire pondered all episode about who should be on the receiving end of her last block. Enter Brandon Montel, who earned a four-chair turn with his dynamic cover of H.E.R.'s "Hard Place." Legend was especially impressed by the singer, but unfortunately for him, McEntire decided to deploy her "block" on him. He was visibly upset by McEntire's move, and he asked her to "Get away from me" when she walked over to him. To make matters worse, the crowd then began chanting for McEntire.

"Cold, just ruthless, this woman!" Legend said to McEntire.

Legend then turned his attention to Montel.

"We've been unceremoniously prevented from working together by the Queen over here," he said, referencing McEntire's block. "Most of the time she's a benevolent Queen, but every once in a while she'll do some ruthless, cold-blooded, dirty things."

Each coach then got their chance to talk to Montel, with Horan complimenting his unique voice. McEntire then called Montel "special" and Legend urged the singer not to "reward her behavior." Stefani then spoke of her experience and love for coaching in her pitch to Montel.

In the end, Montel chose Stefani as his coach, and Legend used the moment to warn coaches not to block him in the future, as it often backfires on them.
