'The View' Is Reportedly In Full Crisis Mode

After Donald Trump won the 2024 Presidential Elections, a wave of criticism hit the popular ABC show, The View, due to a predominantly liberal-leaning viewpoint among their hosts. Now, it appears that the network is entering a crisis as it strives to bring more conservative-leaning hosts to the show, in an effort to prevent viewer alienation.

Several insiders spoke about the internal struggles that ABC is facing following the elections. "ABC bosses are in panic mode," an insider said, according to RadarOnline.com. "They're keenly aware of the need to diversify viewpoints on the show and are determined to reflect America's diverse perspectives."

A second insider complemented this by saying that this move aims to resonate with a broader audience. "It's simple math. Why alienate the majority of Americans?" the insider said. Reportedly, ABC executives held several meetings to discuss the issue. These executives include ABC News Group President Debra O'Connell and ABC News boss Almin Karamehmedovic.

A Balanced Panel

According to the New York Post, "pressure from higher-ups" appears to be forcing The View to hire new panelists. "Viewers can expect some major changes including bringing in new panelists that can bring in a pro-Trump perspective," said the insider. This would attempt to contrast the views shared by panel members such as Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin, among others, who are very vocal about their opposition to Donald Trump.

"Everyone on The View endorsed Kamala Harris. They lost. They are out of touch with America," the insider said. "For a show about different perspectives, The View doesn't seem to have any when it comes to Trump. ABC bosses don't want to alienate the pro-Trump demographic."

Some examples that support the panel's one-way leaning views include Whoopi Goldberg's decision to not name Donald Trump since he first took office in 2016. Most recently, Sunny Hostin blamed "white uneducated women," "Latino men," and "cultural resentment" for Trump's victory in 2024.

Former The View co-host, Meghan McCain, daughter of John McCain, called the show a "radical progressive insane asylum. She also criticized the lack of diversity in the panel lineup's views. "It is actual malfeasance on the part of ABC news that there isn't one single conservative woman on 'The View'," she wrote on X.
