‘The View’ Host, 84, Plans Return After Injury And Promises "All the Gory Details"

This comes after 'The View' host has missed numerous shows, including her iconic birthday episode. She says she'll be back very soon.

Joy Behar of The View has opened up about her return to the panel show. In case you weren't aware, she recently had to step away after suffering a dislocated shoulder.

We reported on it when it happened - she first missed the October 1 episode of The View. At the time, Sunny Hostin explained, "Unfortunately, our dear friend Joy dislocated her shoulder. Yeah, so she's recovering, and will be back soon."

A rep for Joy Behar wrote that she had "caught a heel backstage". The statement, which was dated October 2, said that she was "on the mend and should be back on the show next week". This, obviously, didn't end up being the case.

'The View' Star Explained She is Coming Back

But now, per People, Joy Behar has released a statement explaining exactly when she was going to come back. Whoopi Goldberg read out a statement from The View star on the show's October 13 episode.

"Hold up, because I bring you a, a message from Madam Joy Behar!" she began. "She says, 'Thanks to everyone who inquired about my recovery. If I was still 21 I'd have bounced back the next day.'"

"'But since I'm an old bat, recuperating takes a bit longer. I plan to be back next week to fill everyone in on all the gory details." That statement got a lot of applause from fans and the panel themselves.

Whoopi Goldberg said, "We're waiting for you 'cause we miss you".

This comes after she was absent for her birthday on October 7. Previously, Behar would have been on The View for a special birthday episode. She provided an update despite her absence: "Despite sharing a birthday with Vladimir Putin, she does not have the Russian plague. She's still healing up after dislocating her shoulder."

"What we're saying is, get better fast so we can celebrate you back here on The View," Whoopi Goldberg added.

Although her timeline of her comeback has been confirmed, this isn't the first time - so things could well still be in the air. In any case, we hope that she feels better soon!
