The Texas Polar Express Train Ride You Should Take This Christmas Season

This time of year many of us take Chris Van Allsburg's The Polar Express down from our bookshelves, dust it off and experience the magic of the story with our kids. However, The Texas State Railroad has made this journey come alive for Texans. The Polar Express Train Ride is a 30 minute ride from Palestine, Texas to "the North Pole" where the children get to meet Santa and his elves! So take a look below to learn more about the trip.

Tickets? Tickets, please!

Once on board, the conductor will come by and punch everyone's magical ticket!

Hot, hot, hot! Hot chocolate!

Hot chocolate and cookies are served to the children aboard the Polar Express by dancing waiters, just like in the movie! With "Lone Star" and "Diamond" tickets, riders also get a keepsake commemorative mug for their hot cocoa!

The story

On the way, the Polar Express story is read to every child with the voiceover of actor Liam Neeson!

Santa's here!

Once the train arrives in "the North Pole" the children are greeted by Santa and his elves, and then given a bell cut from Santa's sleigh. Just like in the story though, only those who truly believe can hear their sweet sounds!

Why, the North Pole, of course!

The train's destination is just as magical as it sounds! Passengers can disembark and take pictures with the elves, as well as look around the North Pole and purchase holiday items at the depot gift shop. It's sure to be a magical family memory! Tickets can be purchased at the Texas State Railroad website.
