An elementary school janitor has been charged with eight years in prison after tampering with foodstuffs and items. Considering what he subjected the children to, however, he should be locked up for much, much longer.

Per a press release from the
Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office, Giovanni Impellizzeri, 27, has pleaded guilty to "several counts of Aggravated Assault, Tampering with Food Products, Attempted Endangering, and Official Misconduct."Officials recovered very disturbing videos made and shared by Impellizzeri. They were recordings of him "putting cleaning products and bodily fluids into food items intended for consumption by students and staff." He shared the videos to a chat group on the encrypted chat platform Telegram.
What he did is incredibly grotesque.
Per PEOPLE, someone saw videos of him "masturbating and urinating on pillows and kitchen bowls." He sprayed bleach onto cucumbers that were later served in the school canteen. Impellizzeri also used "multiple pieces of bread to wipe his genitals as well as spitting on the bread before putting the bread back into the container to be later served to children at the school."
This case has been open since 2023 when the videos were recovered. It's taken a while, but Impellizzeri has finally been charged for his disgusting crimes that he committed during October and November 2023.
Despicable Man Only Faces 8 Years
Despite subjugating unaware children to his bodily fluids, Impellizzeri has only been charged with eight years.
He was also found with "Child Sexual Abuse Material" on top of everything he did at the New Jersey school.
I don't understand how someone with a rap sheet such as this, and someone with such an extensive history of child abuse and sexual material, can achieve parole in five years.
So it's possible that Impellizzeri may only have to serve five of the meagre eight years given to him.
Impellizzeri had entered a guilty plea in January. In court on Friday, the man apologized to his victims. I can't imagine how the parents of the afflicted are feeling. Many online are also outraged that he's only facing eight years for his actions.
