The Reason You Won't Catch Carrie Underwood Touring This Year: Report

Carrie Underwood usually has a lot on her plate. It seems like she is editing all that and focusing on home more. That means no touring soon.

Carrie Underwood always has a full schedule. She is a judge on American Idol, which she won in 2005, and that is on top of any singing or recording engagements she has. But the "Before He Cheats" singer seems to be stepping back from some of her professional commitments. There is an understandable explanation.

When she and fellow Idol judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie were on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Recently, they were hyping their upcoming tours. Underwood jokingly scoffed about her future touring dates, however. She blurted out when the talk turned to her about going on the road, "No, nah!"

Underwood Is Taking a Needed Break From Touring

Underwood, 42, has two young boys she shares with her husband of 16 years, Mike Fisher. So she is going to be busy with domestic life rather than gearing up for hitting the road.

Per Star Magazine, a source reportedly said, "Carrie is totally drained right now, both physically and emotionally. For the past several years, she's been packing her calendar and pushing herself to the limit, which has meant long spells on the road and away from Mike."

It also sounds like Fisher wants Underwood to be home a bit more often. The source added, "...[He] is at a point now where he desperately wants his wife back." This person went on to explain, "Carrie's going to give in and do a ton of outdoor stuff now there's time on her hands. [She's also] longing to recharge her batteries and re-assess what's most important to her right now, starting first and foremost with her marriage."

She Does Have Some Gigs Planned

Although she will not be touring anytime soon, the singer will be appearing at some select venues. Per her web site, Carrie Underwood does have plans to sing this summer.

In June, she will be in Oklahoma, which is her home state, and in Nashville for Alan Jackson's Last Call: One More for the Road - The Finale.

Then, in August, Underwood will take the stage at the Wildlands Festival in Montana and in Lenox, Massachusetts.

Finally, in September, she will be appearing at the Velocity Music Festival in Iowa.
