A Road-Weary Wilson Got a Good Talking-To From Urban

She was recently on No Filter with Kate Langbroek talking about how she was really fatigued at one time. That was when Wilson bumped into Keith Urban.

"I ran into him and I was so tired. I had been on the road, I think we played 180-something shows that year. And I saw him and I was telling him, I was just like, 'I'm tired.' And he was like, 'No whining on the yacht.' And I was like, 'Keith, you better get up out [of] my face.'"

He Told Her How To Prevent Getting Carried Away by Fame

It's tough to keep your equilibrium when the tides of fame are lapping at your feet al the time. The wealth, attention, professional demands, and clamoring crowds can all add up to total physical and mental depletion.

Urban counseled Wilson on that as well. To Langbroek, she said, "He told me not long ago, it's better to maintain balance than always be trying to achieve it. So to me that means, figure out what works for you. Have work-life balance and don't lose that, because once you do and you're kind of lopsided, then it's hard to get back."

Miranda Lambert Echoed Those Sentiments

Miranda Lambert is another seasoned performer who has learned about the stresses and pitfalls of renown. Staying above water is a skill that takes time and practice. Wilson said, "[Lambert] called me over to her farm and she was like, 'You need to take a nap. And then we got some stuff to talk about.' And she's like, 'You got to yes, work, do your thing, but you have got to put your feet in the dirt. You have got to do the things that you grew up doing because your feet can get lifted up off the ground quick.' I can see how it happens."
