Singer and former successful TV talk show host Kelly Clarkson won't allow her kids to see one movie. It's not because of racy or violent content. The reason has to do with its quality - or apparent lack thereof. And who it stars - Kelly Clarkson herself. Maybe someday, when her children, River Rose, 12, and Remington, 10, are older, they will sneak a glimpse at the allegedly cringey flick starring their mom. (Their dad was Clarkson's late ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.)

The lighthearted 2003 film is called From Justin to Kelly. It's a frothy musical romp featuring the winner (Clarkson) and runner-up (Justin Guarini) from the initial season of American Idol. The "Breakaway" singer simply feels that it was absolutely not very good. In fact, she came out and very forthrightly said so during her last Las Vegas residency concert on Saturday, August 15.
Clarkson Says She Was "Contractually Obligated" To Make the Film
Per Us Weekly, Kelly Clarkson reportedly commented sourly, "Well, it's an Oscar-worthy number, and it's called From Justin to Kelly." She added, "Two words: Contractually obligated." Clarkson went on, "It's hard, you know? It's not, you're watching it with loving eyes. It's s***." She allegedly underscored the word "obligated" when she uttered it with a gesture - a raised middle finger.
She Bluntly Blasted the Film
Clarkson evidently has strong feelings about this movie. She kept coming back to the touchy topic at her weekend concert. Per the outlet, she also observed, "Man, read the [expletive] fine print, you know. I didn't know that if you won [American Idol], you had to do a movie. Not all of us want to be Meryl Streep, we just like watching her, OK? I was like, "I don't want to be in a movie,' but they were like, 'Yeah, but you won.' And I was like, 'And I feel like I;m losing? It doesn't feel quite like a win."
Clarkson Expressed Her Genuine Admiration for Actors
Having said what she said, which was pretty harsh, Clarkson then clarified her opinion of actors. "I respect actors so much because that's what they do, even after [hosting] a talk show. It's insane, like, how much rejection they get. They keep going, and it's just insane. It's such a cool thing I love, it was not what I wanted to do."
