Country star Alan Jackson is sharing new music for the first time in two years, just days ahead of his Country Music Hall of Fame induction. Fittingly, "The Older I Get," examines his incredible past and looks forward with a full heart.
Channeling his lifelong hero George Jones, Jackson focuses on how fleeting life is and how thankful his for what he's been given.
"The older I get, the more thankful I feel," he sings. "For the life I've had and all the life I'm living still."
"This song reflects a lot of how I feel these days," Jackson said in a press release. "It's a good song; I really liked it, but the message was a little different when I first heard it. I thought maybe it could be a little more positive about being older and wiser and more content. So they rewrote a few things, and this is how it ended up."
"The Older I Get" will be featured on Jackson's new record, due out sometime in 2018. He's currently on the road with a handful of shows scheduled through the middle of November.
