The Mavericks Announce New Christmas Album 'Hey! Merry Christmas!'

You may be planning last-minute summer vacations, but The Mavericks are already looking forward to the end of the year. These Tex-Mex rockabilly/Americana/country music favorites from Miami are planning on releasing a Christmas album that's sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

You probably remember that last year The Mavericks released their first Christmas track, "Christmas Time is (Coming 'Round Again)." The fun, charming tune joyfully sung by vocalist Raul Malo could make any Grinch's heart grow, so producers Niko Bolas and Malo, and the Fantastic Five (Max Abrams, Julio Diaz, Ed Friedland, Michael Guerra and Lorenzo Molina Ruiz), decided to record more holiday songs for an album playfully titled Hey! Merry Christmas!.

Classics such as "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" and "Happy Holiday" will be included on the record, along with eight new songs written by The Mavericks themselves. "Santa Wants to Take You for a Ride" and "Christmas for Me is You" will serve as the record's ballads while "Christmas Time Is Coming 'Round" and "Santa Does" promise to bring the energy.

Pick up or download Hey! Merry Christmas! when it comes out on November 2 from the band's own independent label, Mono Mundo Recordings, where they released their recent LP, Brand New Day, earning them two Grammy nominations. Hey! Merry Christmas! is sure to be the perfect record to jam out and make memories to while you put up your Christmas lights or gather the family to decorate the Christmas tree. Consider purchasing the album on vinyl to display the jolly holiday cover art.

The Mavericks are currently hopping around on tour throughout the U.S. They've tacked on new tour dates starting August 26 and running through December 8.
