We reported earlier this week that host Carson Daly is stepping back from The Voice after its upcoming 30th season.

But that isn't the only thing that is changing on the reality singing competition show. The 31st season is undergoing a huge format change. We have the details below.
Introducing "The Voice: Celebrity"
The Voice has always been about the coaches mentoring new, undiscovered singers. But the twist for the show's season 31is that we know the contestants already have talent, but it may not lie in the musical realm.
The Voice: Celebrity will focus on "a wide range of celebrities — actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality television stars." According to a press release, the contestants will compete to become the show's first celebrity champion.
Don't worry, though; the show will still have coaches sitting in the rotating red chairs. They will also serve as mentors to the high-profile contestants.
Who Are the Coaches?
Queen Latifah and Riley Green are staying on as coaches for The Voice: Celebrity. But someone new will be sitting in one of the rotating red chairs: Joe Jonas.
As a member of the Jonas Brothers, Joe is obviously qualified for the position. He was also a judge for the Australian version of the show. Plus, his brother, Nick Jonas, was hired as a coach on season 18 of The Voice.
The format and the coach lineup aren't the only things that are changing on season 31 of The Voice. Keke Palmer is taking over for Daly as host. She is known for her roles in Akeelah and the Bee, Nope, and One of Them Days. The actress confirmed the news on Instagram.
"That's right. It's true. I'm hosting The Voice. I'll see you guys there," Palmer announced in the clip.
While it was previously reported that Daly was leaving the show to spend more time with his family, the Today correspondent explained on Instagram that the reason is that he is "not the right host" for the new format.
"We're gonna try out these 2 formats this fall/spring & see how it goes!" he added. "Hopefully this post clears up any confusion. I am still hosting the show currently."
