The Hilarious Way Blake Shelton Trolled Luke Bryan's New Song

The rivalry between Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan continues. But did Team Blake score a point this time around?

You may have heard that Luke Bryan has a new song out, "Word on the Street." It's the American Idol judge's first new song in about two years. And to mark the occasion, Blake Shelton did what he does best: He dunked on it.

What Did Blake Shelton Say About Luke Bryan's New Song?

In the song, there is a line that reads, "B.S. free in B.F.E." Shelton claims that when he first heard the song on the radio, he thought that "B.S." referred to his initials. However, he claimed he had no idea what "B.F.E." meant.

"I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so I actually had to look up what 'B.F.E.' means. 'Cause he says 'B.S. free in B.F.E.," explained Shelton.

He added, "So I looked up BFE and, man, I've got to say, this is one of the most honest lyrics that I've heard from Luke. I'm d--n happy about it because I can honestly say that I've never been butt-effing in Egypt. I've never even been to Egypt, so I've definitely never butt-effed there."

Shelton didn't let up. He heaped on the sarcasm as he continued to talk about Bryan's new song.

"That's a risky and powerful lyric from Luke, and very honest," Shelton said with a smile. "I've never been there, and he's right about that. I've never done that there, and I'll just leave it at that. It's always shocking when you hear your name or your initials in a song, and come to find out it's Luke. He is a buddy of mine, so it makes sense that he knows these things about me."

Wait... Did Bryan Fire the First Shot in This Battle?

Maybe it's our algorithm, or maybe Shelton's just got the bigger spotlight, but Bryan actually fired first—posting a jab at Shelton and his own lyrics days earlier.

"B.S. free is Blake Shelton Free," Bryan said. "If I'm in BFE that means you are in 'bum f*** Egypt.' It's a long way out there. It's hard to be found in Egypt. So if I'm in BFE, and I'm Blake Shelton free, then I'm truly happy."

Of course, Bryan and Shelton aren't really feuding. In fact, Bryan has admitted that the rumors about the two fighting only help the duo.

"I mean, people will really worry about me and Blake," shared Bryan last year. "The day that country music loses that or any of that gets lost. ... There's real beefs that go on, but I don't have time for beefs. I just wanna grill the beef."
