As we've reported, Urban and Kidman worked out the details of their split before ending their 19-year marriage, including a parenting plan for their daughters, Sydney Rose and Faith Margaret.

The children will spend only 59 days a year with Urban. Both parents will jointly make major decisions about education and health care.

But reports state that adjusting to this new normal has been tough for Urban.

Despite Their Closeness to Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban Wants To Be in His Daughters Lives

Kidman and Urban's daughters have always been close to their mother, and that connection has grown stronger since the split became final in January.

However, as Star reports, the "Somebody Like You" singer is struggling with the distance between him and his family. He is optimistic about his relationship with his children, even as its dynamics have shifted significantly.

Kidman Will Remain In Nashville

The emotional distance may be wide, but Urban and his daughters may stay physically close.

In an interview last weekKidman was asked whether she would stay in the Nashville area. She replied with a yes.

"We have our life here," she added. "I'm part of the city and community for 20 years. It's my home."

Additionally, both parents have remained respectful towards each other in the press. When asked about how she was doing since the announcement of her and Urban's separation last September, the actress remained cordial.

"What I'm grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That's that," she said. "Everything else I don't discuss out of respect. I'm staying in a place of, 'We are a family,' and that's what we'll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women."

In an interview he gave earlier this year, Urban didn't mention Kidman at all. Rather, he talked about how he is approaching his life in 2026.

"As a friend of mine says, just work on how you introduce yourself to the day," Urban explained. "I thought that was an absolutely beautiful phrase. He said to me, 'How do you introduce yourself to the day, every day?' And I thought, 'Oh my gosh, I love that. I love that.'

"So how do you do it in the morning?" Urban added. "That's where I'm at. Simplifying. Simplifying is my journey this year."
