“That Was My Thing”: Brianna Chickenfry Explains the Origin of Her Tattoo Following Zach Bryan Diss Track

Is Brianna Chickenfry's tattoo related to ex Zach Bryan? She explains why that's not the case in a recent TikTok.

It's certainly been a busy year for Zach Bryan, and it's only been two weeks. The country singer kicked off 2026 by getting married to Samantha Leonard. He followed that by releasing his sixth studio album, Heaven On Top, on January 9. As is always the case with Zach and his fans, many are speculating that both the wedding and several songs on the album are tied to Bryan's ex, Brianna Chickenfry.

Chickenfry, whose real name is Brianna Lapaglia, recently made a comment related to one of the lyrics in Bryan's song "Skin". In the song, Zach Bryan talks about an old lover and references "old tattoos." "I'm taking a blade to my old tattoos / I'm draining the blood between me and you," the lyrics read. "I'm taking a blade to my own skin / And I ain't never touching yours again / Yeah, I ain't never touching yours again."

Coincidentally, Brianna has a "how lucky are we" tattoo, which happens to be lyrics from one of Zach Bryan's songs, "28". Although many people might assume that Brianna got the tattoo when she started dating Bryan, she revealed in a recent TikTok comment that the ink has nothing to do with her ex.

Brianna and Zach Bryan started dating in July 2023 and broke up in October 2024. Lapaglia would later accuse Bryan of emotional abuse. She also would claim that she was offered $12 million and a house to not speak about their relationship.

Brianna Explains What the "How Lucky Are We?" Tattoo Really Means

In a TikTok post on January 10, the Barstool Sports personality shared a story about running into an old flame in New York City. The story has nothing to do with Zach Bryan or the tattoo. However, one follower pointed out in the comments that the timing of that old relationship sounded familiar. "Am I crazy or is the 'how lucky are we' tattoo that everyone talks about with you know who actually the tattoo you got with your friends during this era too??"

Brianna responded, "Hahah yes we all got in Vegas 4 years ago!"

Even after her initial breakup with Bryan, Brianna explained to fans why she wouldn't be getting rid of the tattoo. Mostly because, again, it has nothing to do with him.

In November of 2024, she got real in a TikTok video. "One last thing. I see a lot of people being like, 'Well, now I have to get my how lucky are we tattoo removed.'" "That was my thing. That is my tattoo. Now we're matching, okay? Don't get it removed. It's okay. This is mine. How lucky are we? That was me."

So there you have it, the "how lucky are we" tattoo wasn't Bryan-related. It was simply an impromptu decision Brianna made with friends in Vegas.
