After tragedy struck an elderly veteran, a few kind strangers stepped in to help reunite him with his beloved dogs.
The First State Animal Center and SPCA volunteered to take care of a man’s two dogs after he was admitted to the hospital following a severe heart attack.
Weeks went by, and Bailey and Blaze were eventually put up for adoption. When the veteran was released from the hospital, he was relieved to find that his dogs were still ready and waiting for him. Unfortunately, the man did not have the $250 fee to readopt his animals on hand. He returned this next day to visit the animals, but still could not pay the amount that would enable him to take his animals home.
What the man did not know was that a few kind strangers had banded together to help make his dream of bringing Bailey and Blaze home a reality. The thankful veteran is overcome with emotion when he’s told the news that the dogs would be coming home with him, along with some gift cards and food to use on his pets.
