Texas Rancher Brings Steer into Petco to Test Company's 'All Leashed Pets Are Welcome' Policy

Petco promises that "all leashed pets are welcome" inside their store, but one Texas rancher decided to test that policy at a Houston-area store. His pet just happens to be a little bigger than most.

Vincent Browning and Shelly Lumpkin led their African Watusi steer, Oliver, into the store and the Petco crew couldn't have been happier to see him.

"We decided to take a chance and call Petco's bluff on the 'ALL LEASHED PETS ARE WELCOME' policy," Browning wrote on Facebook. "The awesome crew at Petco - Atascocita did not disappoint!! They welcomed Oliver the African Watusi with open arms. The staff members here are always super friendly and courteous to us. We really enjoy coming to this location...our favorite Petco BY FAR!!"

A video filmed by Shelly Lumpkin shows Oliver's grand entrance and the excited response from employees.

Even before his outing, Oliver was already pretty famous around Texas. The steer frequently makes appearances at rodeos, parades and other events and even has his own Facebook page. The page describes Oliver as a "fully trained African Watusi steer." And yes, he's available for parties.

African Watusi Steers typically weight between 1000 and 1600 pounds and are known for their calm demeanor.

So there you have it, Petco shoppers. All well-behaved steers are welcome.
